This thread has over 30 posts worth of thorough discussion about the changes, not to mention other threads and all in-game debates and no one objected (and don't forget that I didn't come up with all the changes, even you contributed to them). Furthermore, I don't blame the community for anything except the utterly useless feedback.

This whole bullshit-spreading-fest is getting out of hand and all this destructive spam / downright slander should be made punishable.

at least i'm capable of admitting that my idea was shit, i think we have different methods of solving problems:

Mine: If it's not broken don't fix it, if it's broken then seriously ask yourself if the feature itself is broken (=should be removed) or if it needs tweaking.

Admins: If it's not broken then we can keep adding new things, if it's broken then we fix it by following these steps:

Step 1) We keep the feature because it might otherwise feel like a waste of time but we will nerf it into oblivion (see rocket launcher)

Step 2) We add a new ability/class/weapon to compensate for the nerf (New-Edge content quantity going down is like a muslim eating pork, it doesn't happen)

Step 3) We code said new ability/class/weapon and the public will get full details ingame AFTER all code work etc has already been done, noone wants work to be useless, therefore the change is just something the rest of the server will have to live with.

Step 4) We argue on and on about removing/nerfing/buffing features after the changes have already been made, often times we come to the conclusion that the idea might not have been such a great one, but "we already invested time so yeah deal with it"

"And no one objected"
1) Noone is asked for his opinion other than buyist idiots (read: admins that have already invested time in said project)
2) If a person gives his opinion he just gets a shitstorm of "THEN FUCKING DO IT YOURSELF" "but we already invested time into it" or simply "Stop crying"
3) If people's opinions aren't respected or even listened to, why would they provide feedback, rather, why would they keep playing on a server infested with ragers, half-corrupt admins, pros, noobs and french people (last one is debateable)
4) Even if someone provides well thought out arguments rather than the usual "It op me no like" noone cares.
I'll provide my statement with a nice little process-drawing:

(Player: It op me no like) -> (Player either says: It op me no like or RARE: here's a list of arguments why you're fucking retarded) -> (Admin hears, Admin fears) -> (Admin ignores) -> (Player mad) -> (Admin mad because player is mad)

One final question though enneract,

Let's assume the following:
1) You don't agree with admin's decisions
2) Admin doesn't care about you not agreeing with said decisions
3) You're a New-Edge player which means you're gonna say something about said decisions no matter what

What would you do:
1) Provide well thought out arguments showing why the decision is bad, knowing noone cares about all the bullshit you just wrote (Heh, ironic, cookie if you got this far though)
2) Rage without thought, letting off steam even though you know it's pointless
3) Other???

PS: See how i gave you the other option as well? I know it must be a relevation, New-Edge has a black/white and yes/no mentality, just thought i'd show you.

A hint: If both are useless, Why bother with the one that takes longer or is harder?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do i write this now? Because New-Edge means absolutely nothing to me anymore, i've already moved on, just thought i'd share the feelings i've had to crop up over the last 2 fucking years.

Peace, don't bother to respond either i give approximately half a fuck.

This entire post shows exactly what the problem is with all the recent feedback. It's filled with conclusions and accusations, with the whole reasoning processes leading to them conveniently omitted thereby making the entire post utterly useless for the improvement of the server/community.

That said, I'll ensure that from now on all similarly content-free posts will be immediately deleted.

okay enneract that was the last time i tried to reason with you, from now on i'll just throw around more random accusations, you clearly don't care about either type of reasoning.

I quote some of the lines from Numb - Linkin Park:

I'm tired of being what you want me to be,
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface.
I don't know what you're expecting of me,
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes.

Can't you see that you're smothering me,
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control?
'Cause everything that you thought I would be, (I here means New-Edge, but whatevs)
Has fallen apart right in front of you.

I've never noticed how fucking true this is to New-Edge, but please do remove it "because it doesn't contribute to gameplay"

Do you know what a forum is for enneract? In the roman times it was "A place to socialize and to trade" seeing as we stole their word and put it in our own dictionary, what use could a forum possibly have if it wasn't to socialize?

You can't force anything onto anyone here enneract. If you want to play internet police on a forum, that's fine, just don't be surprised to see you've ran out of criminals to catch in a few months time.

Questions to devs/admins and players:

1 .Do you agree with time table laid out by Ams (players returning to NE/not returning > stay at Trem/move to Unv)?
grmg Wrote:So, the conclusion is, we wait?
ams Wrote:about the actual schedule, around 6 months is a good enough estimate for a sensible time period in this case, no point being too hasty at it.
Too short, too long, just right?

2. Secondly - assuming players do return (to the usual levels, 10-20 player games daily) - how long will you (or you intend to) "work" as dev on NE/Trem? Is this connected to the size of community, your free time, "trem is love, trem is life" or is there any other criteria that you base your commitement on?

3. Thirdly - as a player - how "long" do you intend to play Trem in the future? Do you play other games as often as you did/do play Trem? Is the answer based on "I have less time/more rl stuff" or is it based on "i have better games to play"?

4. Fourthly (or however the fuck you say it) - what is your opinion on moving to Unvanquished (in short - basic NE/semi-ubp gameplay that we're all used to done on Unv engine)? If NE got ported to Unv would you still play Trem/NE assuming Trem/NE had active (10-20 player games/day) server or would you rather play Unv/NE?

Lastly, a word od caution, this is a serious thread, full of serious opinions and can have serious consequences so no stupid replies pls or be sure I'll personally ask Kai to nazi the fuck out of you, despite me being mostly against him doing that. Again - no stupid replies pls.

@grmg, post that as a new topic, this topic is too cluttered with other bullshit that people still want to argue about
